Kundapur: Tipper smashes into Tata Ace - two critically injured

Kundapur, Mar 15: Two persons were critically injured in a head-on collision between a tipper and a Tata Ace on NH 66 near Jalady here on Friday March 15 night.
The injured have been identified as Basheer of Yeswanthpur Peenya, Bangalore and Siddha of T Narasipur, Mysore. Both were in Tata Ace.
The tipper was plying from Kundapur to Byndoor while the Ace was moving towards Kundapur from Gokarna. On approaching Jalady, the tipper driver suddenly veered to the right and rammed head-on into the oncoming Tata Ace, said eyewitnesses.
The impact of the accident was such that the Tate Ace was completely smashed and its occupants were critically injured.
Basheer and Siddha have been admitted Kundapur government hospital.
It is said that the Tate Ace belonged to Sri Vigneshwara Logistics hired by Vodafone company in Bangalore. Basheer and Siddha were returning from Gokarna after unloading some materials at Vodafone tower there.
Kundapur traffic police have registered a case.
