Mangalore, Mar 14: 19-year-old Shreyas, a resident of Alape answered his second PU exams on Wednesday March 13, along with thousands of other students.
Nothing strange in that, except that he is one of the accused in last year's Padil home stay attack case.
Shreyas, who prepared for the examinations while being lodged in a cell at Mangalore district jail, was escorted by the police to the examination centre at Milagres College on Wednesday.
Shreyas, the 41st accused in the case had been arrested on October 10, 2012.
In the first week of March, the first additional district and sessions court heard his bail plea and allowed him to write his examination under police security. Sources said that his family members want him to be released so that he could pursue higher education.
Shreyas appeared for commerce exam and returned to jail. Meanwhile his mother and relatives were waiting outside the exam centre.
Shreyas refused to speak to the media. His mother and relatives too objected to media persons clicking pictures. He even expressed outrage at the media by throwing an object towards a camera near the jail premises.
