Mangalore: Train robbery - Woman loses valuables worth Rs 8 lac

Mangalore, Mar 9: A theft of valuables worth Rs 8 lac took place in Matsyagandha Express on Friday March 8 near Honnavar railway station.
The thief was reportedly aged around 30 years.
The vanity bag, belonging to Prema, wife of T Gopal Naik, contained gold jewellery, Rs 20,000 cash, pan card, house key and other documents, altogether worth Rs 8 lac, said Gopal Naik in his complaint.
Gopal Naik and his wife, residents of Thane, were travelling in S4 compartment from Mumbai to Mangalore.
At around 6 am as the train reached Honnavar station, an unknown man snatched the vanity bag from Prema and fled from the spot.
Railway police have registered a case.
Further investigations are on by Honnavar police.
