Kundapur: Monster buses kill two in separate accidents

Kundapur, Mar 6: Two persons were killed and another two critically injured in sepate accidents here on Tuesday March 5 night and Wednesday March 6 morning. In both cases, private buses rammed into bikes.
In the accident that took place on Wednesday March 6 at around 7.45 am, a man died while his son sustained serious injuries after a bus hit their bike near Hemmadi.
Deceased Narasimha Bhandary (50) was on his way to Hemmady along with his son Nayan, when the bus (SRS) plying towards Kollur hit the duo's bike near Devalkund, Hemmadi, killing Narashima Bhandary on the spot.
Nayan sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Chinmayi Hospita,l Kundapur.
Narasimha, a resident of Halkal near Jadkal was running a saloon in Hemmadi from past 25 years. Both father and son were working in the same saloon.
Narasimha is survived by his wife Lilavathi Bhandary, children Naveen, Nayan and Navya. Nayan is a class 10 student in Janatha High School Hemmady. Navya is studying in second PUC.
Gopal Bhandary, former MLA of Byndoor visited the family and offered condolences.
A case has been registered in Kundapur police station.
Rider killed, pillion rider critical
In the accident that occured on Tuesday March 5 night, a bike rider was killed and pillion rider critically injured after a private bus rammed into their two-wheeler.
The deceased is identified as Chandrashekar (28) from Hattiangadi while pillion rider was Ravi (26) from Guddeangadi.
The incident took place at around 9 pm when Chandrashekar and Ravi were riding towards Tallur. The bus plying from Kundapur to Byndoor hit the bike from behind and as a result the riders were thrown off.
They were rushed to hospital by auto driver Shekar Poojary and gram panchayat vice-president Umesh Thamma. However, Chandrashekar died on the way.
The deceased was working as a water bill collector in Hattiangadi gram panchayat office.
A case is registered at Kundapur police station.
