Mangalore, Mar 6: “In memoriam of renowned criminal lawyer Yekkar Thimappa Hegde (Y T Hedge), the Mangalore Bar Association and his family members in collaboration with the Karnataka State Bar Association will be organizing a state-level inter-district advocates’ cricket tournament and a coastal district inter-bar throwball tournament on Saturday March 9 at Nehru Maidan. The unveiling of a photo of Y T Hegde and prize distribution will be organized at T V Ramana Pai Convention Center on Sunday March 10 at 5:30 pm,” said Kallige Tharanath Shetty, former chairman, Mangalore Bar Council, in a press meet held in the city today.

He also added that a cricket tournament will be inaugurated by Muniappa, chairman of Karnataka State Bar Council, in the presidential presence of Ashok G Nijaganavar, principal district and sessions judge of Dakshina Kannada. Uma M G, II additional district and sessions judge will inaugurate the women’s throwball competition. On this occasion, K M Nataraj, additional advocate general of Karnataka state, Sadhashiva Reddy, former chairman, Karnataka State Bar Council, Bengaluru, Magdum Ananda Kumar Appu, former chairman, Karnataka State Bar Council, Bengaluru, will be present as chief guests on the occasion.

Justice S Abdul Nazeer will unveil the photo of Hedge while Justice Dr K Bhakthavasala, judge, Karnataka High Court and administrative judge of Dakshina Kannada district, will preside. Justice B V Pinto, judge, Karnataka High Court, will distribute the prizes.

On this occasion Nijaganavar, P Ashok Ariga, president, Mangalore Bar Association, Motakapalli Kashinath vice-chairman, Karnataka State Bar Council, Bengaluru, and Boje Gowda, member, Bar Council of India, will be present on this occasion.
