Sydney, Mar 4 (IANS): Australia's job advertising rose to the highest level in February since October 2012, according to the ANZ Bank Job Advertisement survey released Monday.
The survey showed the total number of advertisement on the internet and in newspapers rose 3.0 percent in February, Xinhua reported.
Job advertising on the internet was up 3.3 percent in the month while newspaper job advertisements fell 2.9 percent.
ANZ head of Australian Economic and Property Research Ivan Colhoun said the February rise in job advertising suggested tentative signs of a tantalization in hiring intentions.
The bank expects an improvement in the European and Chinese economies and remains confident that the US recovery will continue despite a large fiscal drag.
Colhoun said rising Australian house prices, equity markets and consumer confidence should support stronger domestic economic activity.
