Parrikar like Yeddyurappa in nepotism, says Congress

Panaji, Feb 27 (IANS): Goa's opposition Congress party Wednesday accused Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar of nepotism in allotting an industrial plot to his son and compared him with former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yedyurappa of the BJP.

Yeddyurappa was booked and arrested for denotifying land on the outskirts of Bangalore and handing it to his kin and relatives during his chief ministership. Like Yeddyurappa then, Parrikar also belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Congress spokesperson Sudip Tamhankar demanded a probe by the anti-graft wing of the state police into the alleged "out of turn" allotment of a plot to Parrikar's son Abhijat for setting up a hydraulics and pneumatics unit at the Tuem Industrial Estate, 30 km from here.

The allegations have been rejected by a top Goa official attached with the state industries ministry.

"There is no difference between what B.S. Yedyurappa did with his plot allotments and Parrikar's action. Both have favoured their kin and allotted them plots," Tamhankar alleged.

The Congress claimed that the plot was handed over by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), which is chaired by the chief minister himself.

The Goa industries department has, however, claimed that no irregularities have been observed in the allotment of the plot to the chief minister's son.

Industries director Faizi Hashmi told reporters the plots had been allotted after due advertisement and inviting applications from the general public.

"The entire allotment process has been open, transparent and as per the procedure that has been laid down," Hashmi said.

    In business way..talk:
European countries interested to attract investments from china two times than U.S. as per latest ratio/trade-chamber. China would be the worlds super power in 2020 to 2050..expectations!!!!
Due to corruption & crimes disasters, we unable to compit China & still India survived with Asia's second super power at present. I hope if Anna Hajare could do something to achieve against corruption then, India would be the second world super power soon for sure!!!
Now our innocent people confused with politicians..since there are countless political parties...{need only limited major political parties} no majority/unity everywhere, pulling legs ...so no hopes...no commitments, no stability...

Blaming that Parrikar or any other politician for that matter will be incorrect. As these politician when they are out of power make noise and they get replace they tread the same path of their predeccessor. Lot of noise was made in Goa regarding illegal mining ,but new govt, did not take any action when it came to power. Finally supreme court had to ban it. Same is the case with Lokayuta in Goa. It was committed that withing few day of coming to power the lokayukta will be appointed. Nothing happened and the previous chief minister who lost power as he was corrupt ,is still roaming around freely and until once again the supreme court take action - as it happened with yeddi- nothing will happen.

It is only musical chair every five years and making money by hook or crook in next five years of governance. As all political parties know that their term will be 5 years and it is time to increase personal as well as party funds during this period.i heard it is a policy in Tamilnadu between DMK and AIADMK ,it is called 60:40 rule. Whoever rules the states get 60% of booty and the 40% is given to the opposite party. It get reversed every 5 years when the power equation changes. So, no pointing mentioning whether Parrikar,Yeddi, Congress or any other party or person is goodd. Every party has their own agenda(person I mean not national) and it will be followed whether they are in power or out of power. Ultimately the people who vote are fools

I do not know about this nepotism.
But each issue is separate, not to link others corruption and justify this case!
No court will acquit the offender on the grounds that there are many such similar offenders!
But, I know Mr. Parrikars BJP is FAR better than erstwhile BYS's -BJP governance!
No parallels can be drawn between the two!
In Goa, people are not compelled to side with any particular party.

Parikar will be the best CM if only he could wipe out corruption/bribery from local panchayats and work on infrastructure issues faced by Goans.
This accusation is a vain attempt to malign his name.

Nepotism has been runnign in Karnataka from Devraj Ars time,a ll the the way through Bangarappa, JH Patel, SMK, Dharam Singh, Kummi & untill Yeddi. Its only that when Congress ruled the states by large they Kept it all under wraps and the citizens never knew about all these things. The moment State Govt's grip started loosing from Congress hand and passed to JD & later to BJP recently, thats when the congress which was feeling PIA(Pakisthan Intnl Airlines) sitting in the opposition as it was not used to be in that corner of legislature house they slowly started fixing the opposite parties in these notification & de-notification cases and acated as if their hands are washed in milk. Under the respective parties CMship, not only CM fly but also the close cabinets also grazed nicely and fed their fly and & in laws to.
