Dubai, Feb 25: Emirates Pangalites, UAE, an association of Pangla Parishioners residing in UAE organized a Blood Donation Camp successfully as part of their year-long decennial celebrations which began last year.

The Blood Donation Camp was organized under the slogan “Give Blood. Save Life” on Friday February 22 from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm at Latifa Hospital (Al Wasl) in Dubai.

More than 100 of people participated in the drive, among which around 60 people could donate their blood. In one way it is good to come to the centre for blood donation and to know about one's health condition and take care of it wisely and in a timely manner, said a donor.

Blood Donation is a part of every body’s life as it not only helps to save the patient who needs blood to survive but also helps the donor maintain good health. More the blood you donate, the healthier you remain. It also strengthens the bond of togetherness and fosters the spirit of humanity and brotherhood. It is part of community service and everyone’s responsibility to donate blood.

Emirates Pangalites was formed in 2002 and inaugurated on January 24, 2003 uniting all the Pangalites in UAE under one umbrella. Emirates Pangalites holding several charity noble deeds which helped the needy back in their parish Pangla such as Medical assistance, education, School books, uniforms, fees and Mid-day meal. EP also conducts various medical camps in Shankerpura in association with Rotary Club of Shankerpura, a novel idea initiated by Pangalites many years ago and still continuing their mission to help the needy. Many orphanages and old age homes and their inmates are thankful and ever grateful for EP for their relentless help, love, support and financial assistance. This year EP organized Domestic workers day which is first time in UAE organized by an association.

Clevin D’souza, president of Emirates Pangalites thanked each and every one who supported the blood donation drive. He also thanked Balakrishna Salian of Mogaveers UAE, the main man behind the blood donation camps in UAE.
