Mangalore: Protestors demand committee for development of Konaje Kallu

Mangalore, Feb 25: The well-wishers of Shree Konaje Kallu Siddashram, Padukonaje gram on Monday February 25, staged a protest in front of DC office, and demanded the government to setup an authorized committee of the villagers for the development of the tourist place.

Addressing the protest, Sudatta Jain Shirthady, founder president of Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha appealed the government and district administration to setup an authorized committee.

Adding to this, he also asked to take necessary action against the unauthorized committee setup in the place. The famous tourist place has a history dating back 2500 years; it requires immediate attention and should be developed so that it attracts more tourists, he said.

The protestors also demanded repair of the roads that lead to Shree Konkani Kallu. The work should start by February 28 or else we will intensify our protest, they added.

Sathish Salian, Dinesh Anchan, Veerendra Kumar, Abaykumar Jain, Mahendra Kumar, Sridar S Amin among others were present.

    I am from Moodukonaje . This konaje kallu is in Moodukonaje .

    Why is padu konaje bothered about it .'
    Also i fial to understand why people from Shirtady ( another nearby village) is also bothered.

    I think the government has to look into it deeply before taking a decision.

    Also we would be beware of land sharks in the guise of religion and joint development
