PM visits blast sites, hospitals; appeals for calm

Hyderabad, Feb 24 (PTI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today visited Thursday's blast sites and hospitals where the injured are being treated to express "solidarity" with the people of the city and appealed for peace and calm.

He lauded the people of the city for refusing to be provoked by the "nefarious" act.

Singh visited the twin blast sites and Omni and Yashoda Hospitals where he met some of the injured and their families, assuring them of all help.

"I have come to share the grief of people of Hyderabad. I express condolence for the families of the bereaved and wish speedy recovery for the injured," Singh said after meeting the blast victims at the hospitals.

He also said the state government has assured all medical help for them.
"The state government has assured all help will be given for treatment," Singh, who flew in here from Delhi by a special IAF plane, said.

Making an appeal for peace, he said, "I call upon the people to maintain calm in this hour of grief. I am happy that people of Hyderabad have refused to be provoked by this nefarious incident."
Singh had yesterday strongly condemned the blasts, saying those responsible for the "dastardly" act would not go unpunished.

Consoling the mother of one of the injured K Parmeshwar, Singh said all possible care will be provided to her son, the Prime Minister's Office tweeted. "The staff will take all possible care of your son," he told her.

He assured another blast victim Sudhakar Reddy that "we will provide all possible medical help to you and others".

Talking to Rajitha, an injured undergoing treatment at Yashoda hospital at Malakpet, Singh said, "I am here to share your pain and grief. We will take care of you."

Before leaving for Delhi, the Prime Minister told Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to find a mechanism to provide jobs to those grievously hurt and disabled in the blasts.

Singh was received this morning at the Begumpet airport by Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimham, the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues.

From the airport, he, along with the Governor and the Chief Minister, flew by a helicopter to Victoria Memorial Home where a helipad was constructed for his visit.

From there, he went to Dilsukhnagar by road where the two bombs had exploded within a span of a few minutes on Thursday, killing 16 people and leaving 117 injured. He was at the blast area for about ten minutes and spent nearly 40 minutes with the injured.

Singh also held a review meeting with the Chief Minister and the state ministers during which Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy briefed him about the progress of the investigation into the case. The Prime Minister was told that certain "clear clues" were obtained based on footage of the closed-circuit cameras at the scene and also questioning of some terror suspects lodged in jails here.

"We are working in close coordination with the National Investigation Agency and are hopeful of cracking the case soon," the DGP was said to have told the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister informed Singh during his nearly three-hour-long visit that about 3500 closed-circuit cameras were being installed across the state capital to step up surveillance.

Union Ministers Balram Naik, Sarvey Satyanarayana, Panabaka Lakshmi, Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha, state Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and senior officials were among others who received and saw off the Prime Minister.

Statements can be issued from Delhi also. Instead of visiting, the same amount which was spent on visit could have been distributed to the victims.
I read two jokes on this issue. On lighter note:
PM: " I came here to share the grief & pain"
Audiance:" Please share the scam wealth also"
One more: PM paid the homage by talking for two minutes(Instead of 2 mins silence.)

Even if your BJP leaders were there in his place also would have done same-thing... Even we have seen in the past.. presently we seeing in state.. In future also happens samething.. I know BJP leaders are smart in talking than Mr. Manmohan. But talking and making promises doesnt help guys.. Im not saying its BJP or Congress.. All political party leaders are same. Even if u become PM also samething will continue..Dont expect any good things from politics..it apllies BJP congress and all parties..We people don't have better Job. So we read news and comment here thinking the parties which we support is doing great job.. But in reality all parties are cunning and corrupt..

Better we shut our mouth and do some Social work when we have free time rather than waiting political leaders to do that which never happen.. So that we wont be having time to Discern people based on BJP Congress Hindu Muslim, Christains.. Politics gives crores to Church temple Masjid which is no use.. But they forgot same money will help so many poor people to get smile on their face. But we people forget that Govt has not helped us in any way but we remember they provided crores in temples, churches & Masjid's so we give votes to them.

Govt should take proper step to rehabilitee of injured victims . a mom lost his one and only son ,some lost their legs, hands etc. everyone will talk about this blast for another week ,then no news will be shown in TV channels later .

One fine day there be news that govt not given any thing to victims of AP blast… it is time to centrl govt to make special law for this terror attacked victims
I ask who is responsible for Abdul Wasif Mirza, a 25-year-old clothes hawker, was badly hurt in 2007 and again on 19th . Rajitha, a MBA student who lost a leg , what govt will give to her ???....

This time to make new law for innocent people died and for injured people life and future. Govt should help victim by giving govt job or compensations that will be help them for their entire life time.

We know it is not easy to control the terror attack in India, as area & population wise India is big but political parties and leaders should show the will and concrete plan to prevent the terror act with proper steps and planning.

Indians we want CCTV camera on roads not your helplessness and false promises.

This SILENT MODE PM does not have any shame. He should resign immediately.

After every bomb blast he goes to venue and says - "We regret, unfortunate, 2 lakhs compensation, free medical treatment, it is cowards job, we will take action, our govt is committed to combat terror, request to maintain peace, no need to worry, our country is safe, security force is on task, we will prevent such things in future etc blah.. blah..".

He has been telling this from last 9 years. Most of the attacks had prior clues. None of them his govt could prevent. He is just playing with lives of people. Shameless PM. The title UNDER-ACHIEVER and TRAGIC-FIGURE best suits him. People of US are not fools in awarding such titles to him.
