Bhatkal, Feb 20: Karnataka University Dharwad III Zone Karwar Zonal and Inter Zonal Men’s and Women’s Table Tennis (TT) Tournament hosted by Anjuman Degree College and PG Center Bhatkal, concluded on Monday February 18.

Prof K Kalimullah, P D of Anjuman Degree College and P G Center, congratulated the students of Anjuman Degree College for winning the zonal level tourney and securing second place in the inter zonal TT tournament. Prashant Prabhu of second year B.Com was selected ‘University Blue Player of 2013’ for the first time in the history of the college.

Bangurnagar Arts, Science, Commerce College Dandeli, bagged the Men’s Inter Zonal Table Tennis Tournament 2013 by defeating Anjuman Degree College 3-1. At the zonal level, Anjuman Degree College defeated Bangurnagar Arts, Science Commerce College Dandeli 3-2.

In the women’s segment, MES College of Commerce, Sirsi, defeated Jain College, Hubli, by 3-2 at the inter zonal and zonal levels also.Also MES College of Commerce, Sirsi, bagged the championship by defeating SDM Honnavar 3-1.

The closing ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Nadeem Qausain,
principal, Anjuman Degree College and P G Center. Prof Nazeer Ahmed welcomed the guest.
Chief guest of the closing ceremony was Prof Riyas Ahmed Jagirdar, principal of Anjuman Pre University College.

Kashimji Mohammed Ansar presided over the function. General secretary of Anjuman Hami-E-Muslimeen Jukaku, Abdul Raheem College Board secretary Javeed Hussain Armar, and chairman of the organizing committee Prof M M Jamadar were present on the stage.

A total of nine teams participated in the zonal men’s category.

JSS SMI VG and PG College - Dharwad –third  place
A total of six teams participated in the inter zonal men’s category.
