Udupi, Feb 20: Udupi District Farmers’ Association will be organizing “Raitha Samavesha-2013” on Sunday February 24 at Sri Sharadha Muntapa, Kunjjibettu, Udupi from 10 am to 4 pm. A press meet was called for the same at Udupi Residency on Tuesday February 19.

Swami Isha Vittala Das, Sri Sandhipani Sadhana Ashrama Sri Kshetra Keramu, will inaugurate the function.

On the same day, an agricultural seminar discussing the need for improvised seeds in farming, self-sufficiency in agriculture, environment awareness, and the vanishing ‘padi’ farming will be held.  Dr Hanumanthappa, Brahmavar agricultural officer, will give a talk.

In this meet, farmers will be given information about the latest technology and market trends and an exhibition and sale of new machineries will be held.

Various plants, seeds, and books related to farming will be available. Ramakrishna Sharma president, Kudi Srinivas Bhat, chief secretary, and M Bhaskar Shetty, vice president, were present.
