Mangalore, Feb 19: The Alumni get-together was held at St Agnes college auditorium on February 10.
The day began with breakfast followed by a melodious invocation by Pearl Fernandes. Jacintha and Kavitha performed a welcome dance.
Dr Sr Prem D’Souza , president of the Alumni Association, welcomed the gathering.
Copies of the Agnesian newsletter were distributed by the editor, Astrid Martis, followed by the singing of the college anthem by the final year students.
The chief guest of the day was Dr Olinda Pereira. Sheila Tauro greeted the chief guest with a bouquet of flowers. Dr Olinda was felicitated and honoured for her yeomen service to the society for well over five decades.
Dr Olinda related her experiences in social service and advised all the attendees to give back to the society.
The annual report of the association was presented by the secretary, Saramma Jayaraj with a powerpoint presentation. Treasurer Muriel Rodrigues read out the annual accounts.
The second part of the progamme was skits, group games, dances, spot prizes, singing and other items of entertainment. A sumptuous lunch was followed by a game of housie-housie.
The compere for the day was Charlotte Mascarenhas; the games were conducted by Marjorie Texeira, Daisy Coelho and Hazel Peris.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Carol Pais Coelho.
