Udupi, Feb 17: Various Hindu associations staged a protest here at Udupi service bus stand on Saturday February 16 condemning BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh for abduction of Shree Narendrathirtha Shankaracharya Swamiji.

Addressing the agitators, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Vijay Kumar said, “In order to stop Shree Narendrathirtha Shankaracharya Swamiji from entering Saraswathi Temple at Bhojashala in Madhya Pradesh, his flight ticket was cancelled. When Swamiji was travelling in his own vehicle, he was stopped in between and abducted. In addition to this, his disciples were confined at a place, he said alleging the involvement of Madhya Pradesh ruled BJP government.

Chittaranjan Hegde of Vishwa Hindu Parishad said, “Earlier, the government had given permission to offer prayers at ‘Bhojashale’ after the Hindu activists staged protest in more than 100 places across the country. However, when Swamiji was on his way to visit the place he was abducted,” he said.

We cannot forget the injustice done against Hindus, he added.

Gopalkrishna Mallya, Navalkishore Sharma, Ravindra Kamath, members of various Hindu associations were present on the occasion.

Udupi district BJP president submitted a memorandum to the district DC in the presence of protestors.
