Tele-marketing - carpenter duped by female caller

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Feb 9: There have been numerous instances of deceit through various means, and telemarketing is one of them. A person from Salethoor near Vittal, who is engaged in carpentry,  learnt after losing some money, that sweet voices need not always come from honest persons.

The person in question received a call from mobile No 7795681700 from an unknown lady, who claimed to be employed with a Hassan-based concern. She offered to send items worth Rs 22,500 for just Rs 3,500. Initially he suspected foul play and rejected the offer. But after the caller continued with the same offer time and again, he agreed to the deal.

On Friday February 8, a parcel supposed to contain materials required by him, arrived at the post office. The man paid Rs 3,500 and eagerly claimed the parcel. Upon opening it, he found that different sized belts that are of no use were packed inside. The person has given this information to serve as warning to others not to fall prey to such tricks.
