USA, Feb 7: Sri Guru Raghavendra Brindavana Prathista was successfully carried out recently under the guidance and blessings of Shree Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Udupi Sri Puthige Matha at Sri Venkata Krishna Kshetra, 615 S Beck Ave, Tempe, USA.
It was the first Mruthika Brindavana to be installed in the USA. The Prathista rituals were carried out in the Madhwa tradition by the priests who came all the way from India and local priests from the Puthige Math in the US for this occasion. The highlight of the prathista was bringing the Mruthika (scared soil) from Mantralaya, India by Shree Prasanna Acharya, secretary of Shree Puthige Matha, observing all the rituals associated with it.
The prathista was spread over three days and attended by Madhwa devotees from all over the US. On January 24, all the ritualistic Homas were performed to sanctify the area. The prathista was performed on January 25 followed by Panchamrutha abhisheka,108 Kalashabhishekam, Tulsi archana', Hastodaka to Rayaru, Mrushtanna, Anna Santarpane and other rituals.
Meticulously done as per Madhwa tradition. The highlight of the prathista was taking the Mruthika on the palanquin around the temple accompanied by chanting of Veda Ghosha and Haridasa Sankirtham before the installation.
During the three days the Navagraha punarprathista was also performed, where the Navagrahas were relocated into a Sannidhi within the temple.
As part of the Prathista, Sapthosthava cultural events such as Sangeethosava by Shree RajaRajeshwari Bhat from Houston TX, Nirthyosavam by Divya Prabhakar AZ, Palakki Uthsava, Srimad Bhagavd Geetha Jnana Satra by Vishwa Madhwa sangha all over the US, discourses, Hari Dasa Sankeerthane by AZ-VMS group, debate etc were organized. It was a once in a life time opportunity for the devotees in the US and Canada to witness Sri Guru Raghavendra Brundavana Prathista, and to participate in and receive His blessings.
The chief priest of Sri Venkata Krishna Temple, Shree Kiran Kumar and his team, thanked the donors, seva sponsors, volunteers and the devotees for their participation and making this event a grand success.
