Hyderabad, Feb 4 (IANS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and state Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana reached Delhi Monday for consultations with top leadership of the Congress party over Telangana issue.
The two leaders reached the national capital by an early morning flight. The party leadership had summoned them for consultations before taking a decision on the vexatious issue.
They are likely to meet Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is also in charge of party affairs in the state, and other central leaders.
Besides Telangana, the latest political developments in the state and issues related to the party and the government may also come up for discussion.
After an all-party meeting on Telangana Dec 28, Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde had declared that a decision on Telangana would be announced within a month. However, a day before the month's deadline ended, both Shinde and Azad said some more time was required for consultations.
Azad had said the party would have consultations with the chief minister, state party chief and leaders of all three regions - Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema.
Protesting the delay in taking the decision, seven Congress MPs from Telangana last week sent their resignations both from the Parliament and the party to party president Sonia Gandhi.
