Islamabad, Feb 3 (IANS): Pakistani political party Jamaat-e-Islami has given a call to observe "Kashmir Solidarity Day" Feb 5 to express support for the people of Kashmir in their "freedom struggle", a daily said.
The day was first observed in 1990 by the party, the News International reported.
The party will hold rallies and seminars in Islamabad and provincial capitals to "condemn" India's "illegal occupation" of Kashmir for the last six decades, the daily said.
In a statement, the party said peace in Kashmir region could be restored only with the solution of the issue in accordance with the sentiments of the Kashmiri people.
