Manglore, Feb 3: The newly acquired office space by Atlantic Data Bureau Services Pvt Ltd, a UK based company (operating since 2005 at Mahaveer Circle) was successfully inaugurated. The new space is over 21000 sq.ft and will enable it to expand its operations locally. It can support a team of over 300 people and will be operational from February 2013.
British Deputy High Commissioner Ian Felton said that Prime Minister of UK David Cameron wanted better ties with India, especially in education and business sectors. These were few areas that the government of UK was looking forward for the mutual benefit of both countries.
The British Government was easing visa conditions and services to Indians especially to students who wanted to study in UK universities.
"There were no limits or cap on the number of students going to UK from India. British government was looking at encouraging educational qualifications from UK universities in professional courses, humanities, basic science streams and also in-service people with UK-based companies, especially in the IT sector. 95 percent of business issues will be alleviated with the loosening of VISA standards", he stated.
President of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Mohammed Ameen said, "that the organisation aimed at the development of an IT hub in Mangalore, as people here were well-educated and intelligent".
“Soon, KCCI will organise an IT conclave in Mangalore. We have to retain youngsters in Mangalore in order to prevent ‘brain-drain’ to other countries. Talks are on-going with NASSCOM on a programme to give leverage in technology in business mode”, he said.
Director of Aloysius Institute of Management and IT (AIMIT) Fr Denzil Lobo said that the educational facilities created in Mangalore by various organisations and institutions were of world-class standard.
He also added that, ”further facilitate good education, we need an up-gradation of syllabus and curriculum from time to time. Foreign collaboration in this regard would provide valuable assistance”.
The inauguration commenced at 11am and was followed by lunch.
The managing director of UK Atlantic Data Services Mark Follett and director of Atlantic Data Bureau Services Mangalore Deepak Sharma were present on the occasion.
