New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS): Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Wednesday swept the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) elections bagging 37 of the 46 seats.
The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi), backed by the Congress, could muster only eight seats as against its existing strength of 27 seats.
Paramjit Singh Sarna, who headed the Delhi Akali Dal, lost in Punjabi Bagh to his opponent Manjinder Singh of the Badal Akali Dal by 4,454 votes.
The Kendriya Guru Singh Sabha bagged one seat.
