Mangalore, Jan 29: Popular singer Palash Sen with his 'Euphoria' band rocked the city on the final day of Panambur Beach Festival.
The band had the crowd swaying to peppy numbers and dancing along right through the show.
The electrifying atmophere reverberated with hits like 'Mayri', 'Kaise bhoolegi', 'Naya naya', 'Dhoom pichuck', and many more.
Addressing the gathering during the valedictory programm, MLA Krishna J Palemar said, "As Karnataka has a long coastal belt, the government has decided to develop tourism here and the blue print of proposed development projects is ready.
"States like Goa and Kerala have developed beaches and they have been receiving good income from that. This will also be undertaken in our state so that more employment opportunities will be provided," he added.
District commissioner N Prakash, in his address, said that measures will be taken to make this place a favorite destination in the coming years.
On the occasion, ‘Team India’ kite flyers and Yathish Baikampady, director of Panambur beach development project were honoured.
Mayor Gulzar Banu, MCC commissioner Dr Harish Kumar and zilla panchayat CEO KN Vijayprakash were present among others.
Assistant commissioner welcomed the gathering. Yathish Baikampady delivered the vote of thanks.
Thousands of people witnessed the beach festival on Sunday. Coastal dishes like Kori Pundi, Fish Fry, Idli Kori and various other dishes were the center of attraction.
The kite show attracted people of all ages, with many purchasing kites and flying them at the beach.
In the afternoon, competitions like boat race, swimming competition and skating competition were held.
Tight security was placed in the venue and hence no traumatic incidents were witnessed.
