Bhatkal: Yennepoya Medical College wins BIFA district level football tourney

Bhatkal, Jan 27: Yennepoya Medical College team recently won the district level open football tournament organized by BIFA (Bhatkal Inter Football Association).

The final match was played between Yenepoya Mangalore and BIFA. Yenepoya Medical College won the tournament by defeating BIFA in a penalty shoot-out (3-2).

The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,015 with a trophy while the runners up were awarded Rs 7,007 and a trophy. The third place was bagged by Kazba Brothers Ullal.

Best playmaker: Akeef Chamunddi (BIFA)
Best defender: Shaheen (Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore)
Best striker: Maviya Mohteshem (BIFA)
Upcoming player: Akeef Chamunddi (BIFA)

TMC president Inayatullah Shahbandari, Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation president Maulana Ansar Madani, Rotary Club member Nazeer Kashimji and others were present during the closing ceremony.

The tournament was organized by BIFA (Bhatkal Inter Football Association) at the YMSA ground. Totally 17 teams participated in the tournament.

BIFA defeated KSDA Brothers Mangalore in semi final while Yenepoya defeated Al Firdaus.
