Udupi, Jan 23: ‘Parichaya’ that was founded by Vincent Alva as it honorary president and his friends at Pamboor last year with the prime objective of promoting native art, literature, culture, music, dance, etc in rural regions will host its annual programme 'Varsha Dhwani' on Sunday January 27 in the premises of Shri Narayanaguru Educational Institutions, Pamboor.
The programme will be graced by eminent persons from the literary world.
The programme will be inaugurated at 10 am. Muddhu Moodubelle, head of the Mangalore Akashvani will be the chief guest for the inaugural function. At 11 am, in a programme named ‘Gamaka Gaddhuge’ popular singer Chandrashekhar Kedlai and retired lecturer K S Shridhar Moorthy will recite and explain an episode named ‘Karnabhedhane’ from Kumaravyasa Bharatha. There will be a question-answer session for high school students called ‘Rasagange’ at 2.30 pm.
‘Varshakke Namane’ will be held at 5.30 pm. Shri Kasaragod Chinna, President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will be participating in this programme as the chief guest.
The main programme of the day, ‘Swara Surabhi’ will follow next. Famous Sitar artist Sitar Nawaz Ustad Rafiq Khan, flute maestro Suramani Pravin Ghodkindi and their group will perform ‘Swara Surabhi’ jugal-bandhi. World famous ‘Shivas Fusion Band’ from Kerala will present fusion music.
Entrance to all these programmes will be free.
