Kuwait, Jan 17: Buntara Sangha Kuwait held their annual general body meeting on Friday January 11 at Salmiya Wedding Hall. The program commenced with a prayer followed by the traditional lighting of lamp by the Managing Committee.
Welcome address was given by vice president Soma Shekar Rai. Jaysheel Shetty, general secretary, presented the annual report highlighting the various cultural and social activities organized in the past year. Treasurer Sadanda Adyanthaaya briefed about the income and expenditure of the Sangha for the year. The managing committee felicitated the few newly married couple without dowry as part of social commitment of the association.
The managing committee honored all the sub-committee members and also other adults and kids who participated in the various cultural programs.
The outgoing president Sathishchandra Shetty Nakre extended gratitude to all the members for the yearlong cooperation and support as well as the warm response in contribution to welfare activities to serve the needy under HEMA (Health, Education, Marriage Assistance) scheme.
Chandrahas Shetty, the designated election officer briefed over the nomination of the managing committee for the year 2013. The following office bearers were declared to have been elected to serve as office bearers for the year 2013.

The new managing committee members introduced themselves and affirmed their commitment to serve the association to the best of their abilities in co-operation with all the members.
After the delicious lunch by Oriental Restaurant, lively cultural programs entertained the members. Dr MK Subhash, one of the finest and popular singers in Kuwait mesmerized the audience with his beautiful rendering of the popular classical song “Shankarabharanam”.
Reetha, Sandhya, Laxmi and Nalini along with Dr Subash also entertained the audience with some melodious Kannada and Hindi songs. Spectacular dance programs were performed by JovasXInc, Breakhouse, The Dancing Divas, Kuchipudi and Dhoom Dance group. Finally the evening was capped by some electrifying Bhangra group dances and concluded with the Indian national anthem.
The vote of thanks was given by Jaysheel Shetty. The program was well anchored by Sandesh Shetty and Prithvi Shetty. The cultural program was coordinated by Shalini Alva.
