Mangalore, Jan 16: Shalini Rajaneesh, principal secretary DPAR, held a meeting with the higher officials of the various department of the DK District, regarding the Sakala Services in the DC Office conference hall on Wednesday January 16.
Addressing the media, she said that nearly 44,000 applications have been received in this month in the state and there are no pending applications in the DK Dist, which is a point to be noted.
DK district has been doing well and giving the best reports in the Sakala Services, so in order to encourage the officials and to receive feedback and suggestions from their end, this meeting has been organized. Sakala Services is an online based service portal of the Karnataka State.
There are nearly 265 services already enrolled and upgraded in the web portal, among the total 1800 service available. One and a half crore people have been benefitted through this service; of this on board 265 services in percentage, stands to nearly 97.65% of them been cleared and disposed.
"The work has been carried out from a long time, but now it is possible to show the sucess of the work as the data and reports have been upgraded in the webportal, that is very much transparent. Public should make use of this web portal www.kar.nic.in", she urged.
There has been a call centre set up in the state for online assistance which receives nearly 2000 enquiry calls/day and nearly 800 complaint calls/day, with this regard, it is quite clear that many are not aware of the exact services and many have complaints, so there is definately more room for improvement.
Statistical reports state that nearly 80% of total population in Karnataka possess mobile phones, but only 37% of mobile phone numbers have been entered in the application form for these services. The DC has been granted the rights to deploy more staffs, based on the workloads and they will be granted more systems accordingly.
