Mangalore, Jan 15: Divo Konkani weekly, a sister publication of ‘The Secular Citizen’ conducted yet another full day seminar for the youth of Mangalore Diocese at Madanthyar parish hall on Sunday January 13. This was their 11th seminar.
The theme of the seminar was ‘leaders in the making and reaching to the top’.
V P Lobo, Dr Gerald Pinto, professor Judy Pinto and Dr Ronald Cutinha were the main resource persons.
Lawrence Coelho, editor of Divo weekly spoke on the need to creating future leaders in the community through expert guidance by the specialists. Susan Coelho, John Mendonca and Cypri Sampige, members of the Divo editorial team were also present.
Arun Furtado, Dakshina Kannada District Social Welfare Officer was the chief guest. Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, parish priest presided. Dr J R Sera, vice president, parish council and Blany D’Souza, secretary of parish council were also present.
Divo representative in Madanthyar Thelma Madtha and Eliza Mathias promoted this event.
Vincent Moras, member ICYM Madanthyar compered the programme.
ICYM members worked as a team under the leadership of Rohan Lewis, ICYM local president.
The seminar was attended by over 500 Catholic youth from Madanthyar and surrounding parishes.
Divo Konkani weekly provided this seminar free of cost along with breakfast, lunch and evening tea.
Parish priest Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas thanked the organizers, the Divo team, resource persons and all the participants.
