Hubli, Jan 13 (PTI): B S Yeddyurappa led Karnataka Janata Party today urged the Governor to intervene and prevent Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar from presenting the budget, claiming that the ruling BJP will not survive its full term.
"We urge Governor H R Bhardwaj to prevent Shettar from presenting the budget as his government may not survive its full term with many ministers and legislators resolving to join our party," KJP leader Dhananjay Kumar told reporters here.
He claimed at least 15 BJP MLAs have been attending KJP meetings and conventions and hence the government is losing majority. Kumar lambasted Congress and JDS for letting go the chance of moving a no-confidence motion against the government during the recent Belgaum winter session.
He also criticised JDS for creating 'confusion' in the minds of the people with father-son duo of H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy differing on moving no-confidence motion against the government.
"The father says he will not let anybody remove the government and son says he will not let anybody from his party to join hands with BJP in next election. Whom we should believe? We are not able to understand," he said.
