Mangalore: National Youth Day, Yuva Janotsava to Mark Swami Vivekananda’s 150 Birth Anniversary

Mangalore, Jan 9:
“The district administration, as per the directions of the government, has shouldered with Ramakrishna Ashrama to observe the National Youth Day and celebrate Yuva Janothsava at the premises of the Matha in Mangala Devi on January 11 and 12”, informed DC N Prakash at a press conference held at his office here on Tuesday January 8.
 
He said that as the life and preaching of Swami Vivekananda that boost young minds and contribute for personality development is relevant to the contemporary world and his views were in favour of upholding the interest of all sects, this program has been organized.


 
“Various peoples’ representatives will be present on January 11. Various intellectual discourses and cultural programs will also be a part of the Youth Convention”, he added.
 
“On January 12, the Mega Youth Jatha and convention will be held and about 5000 youth will start the jatha from Nehru Maidan to Ramakrishna Matha passing by Corporation Bank head office, Shreenivas College. Dr N Vinay Hegde, chancellor, Nitte University will inaugurate the program. Lunch will be provided and Rashtra Devobhavah dance program will be organized. Art exhibition and book exhibition will be organized”, he said.
 
Swami Athma Roopananda of Shree Ramakrishna Matha who was present at the press meet said that the programs to mark Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary will go on from January 14 to 17. Viveka Vandana will be organized on January 13 and Viveka Nandana will be organized on January 14. Program on value based education for primary teachers will be organized on January 15 and youth convention will be organized on January 16.

A program called ‘Viveka Manthana’ will be organized on January 17 for primary teachers. Yakshagana shows from Tenkuthittu and Badaguthittu troupes will be organized on January 13 and January 14 from 2 pm to 8 pm.

The prasangas will be Hiranyaksha Vadhe and Sathyavan Savithri. Renowned artistes in both forms of the troupes are expected to enthral the audience with their flamboyance.
 
ADC Dayananda, ZP CEO Dr K N Vijayprakash and Subhashchandra K L, deputy director of District Sports and Youth Affairs department were present at the press meet.
