Book MIM Leader for Hate Speech: Court

Hyderabad, Jan 3 (IANS): A city court Thursday directed the police to book a case against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for his alleged hate speech.

The IVth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court directed Osmania University police station to register a case against Akbaruddin for his provocative speech he made in Adilabad district Dec 24.

The court passed the orders on a petition filed by one Venkatesh Goud, a resident of Osmania University area.

Akbaruddin Owaisi is the MIM legislator and party leader in Andhra Pradesh assembly. He is the younger brother of MIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

Another city court is set to deliver later in the day orders on another petition, seeking action against Akbaruddin for the alleged hate speech.

The VII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court had Wednesday reserved the orders on a petition by Kashimshetty Karuna Sagar, an advocate.

The petitioner asked the court to file a case against Owaisi under Section 295A (for deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner also alleged that he had been getting threatening calls for filing the complaint against the MIM legislator.

Social activist Shabnam Hashmi has also lodged a complaint at Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi against the MIM leader for allegedly making derogatory remarks about a particular community.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy told reporters here Thursday that the law would take its own course in Akbaruddin's case. He said the government had no role in the matter and it was for the police to take action as per the law.

He said it had come to the notice of the government that Akbaruddin made provocative speeches in Adilabad and Nizamabad districts.

The MIM leader, whose party snapped ties with ruling Congress party in November last year, was addressing public meetings aimed at what was called exposing communal attitude of Kiran Kumar Reddy's Congress government.

Kick out this MIM, they are always giving hatred & provocative speech. Their action is justifiable since they are partners of secular front. Not even a single word uttered by self claimed & so called secular leaders. This is the clear indication of double standard politics played by secular front. " Ondu kanninge banna & ennodu kannige sunna".

I wonder why CONGRESS GOVT AT CENTER is silent. Imagine if the hate speech was given by a BJP politician?
This shows Congress has ignored sentiments of HINDUS for 12 percent vote bank.

The concerned MLA lost his nationality by vomiting venom against fellow Indians.Put him behind the bar and certainly dangerous for society.Extreme views are dangerous be it from extremist Hindus or Muslims or Christians, should be dealt as per merit and seriousness of the case.

Finally after 10 days...This is Cong Govt's true nature when it comes to votebank politics. If it was Varun Gandhi again, all police force would have come under Congress Govt & by now Digvijay Singh would have demanded him to be hanged to death along with the rapists.
Both these brothers from MIM party always get away easily after making such provacative speech's weather in assembly or in public.
If a open threat like "if proper rehabilitation does not take place, you be ready for a third wave of radicalization among Muslim youth" as said by Asaduddin Owaisi(akbaruddin's brother) in the favor of Bangla settlers to legitimise their naturalisation status so that it helps the vote bank of you know whom in India, when he can get away without any actions when he said thsi in the parliment, then we need any mirror to reflect or to know where the congress taking our nation for the sake of vote bank.
I am sorry, am not against any muslims with whom I have some good friends & dint mean any offence, but its fact & i dont care what opinion is made out of this.

Akbaruddin Owaisi's hate speach is dangerous for Muslims and not to Hindus. It is the interest of Muslim community either tame this guy or snap tie with his party for ever.
