'Situation being Created to Delay Pakistan Polls'

Islamabad, Jan 2 (IANS): Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (Fazl-ur-Rehman) (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has alleged that an attempt is being made to put off general elections due in Pakistan in February-March in the country.

Rehman, while visiting a slain Awami National Party leader Bashir Bilour's residence to offer condolences Tuesday, told reporters that a law and order situation was being created to postpone elections in the country under a planned conspiracy.

Demanding that the general elections should be conducted on time, Rehman asked: "If elections can be held in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, then why not in Pakistan?."
