Phnom Penh, Dec 27 (IANS): Cambodia and Thailand Thursday launched a single visa scheme for tourists, the Cambodian foreign ministry said. Indians are among people from 35 countries who are eligible for this visa.
The scheme is part of the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) framework initiated by five ASEAN countries in 2003.
The five nations include Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand.
The scheme is viewed as a pilot project of the ACMECS member states, Xinhua reported.
The visa can be applied at diplomatic and consular missions of Cambodia and Thailand.
"The visa costs $20 for a single entry and is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance," the ACMECS said in a statement.
It said 35 nations and regions are eligible, including India, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, US, South Korea, South Africa, the UAE and Britain, among others.
