Udupi, Dec 2: “Drama, cinema and serials when made close in terms with reality of life will reach the people. Continues support for organizers who hold such programs is very much needed”, said entrepreneur Suresh Shetty Gurme.
He spoke after inaugurating a daylong workshop on ‘acting in cinema’ organized by Kaup Vidyaniketan Education Institution Group, Disha Communications Katapady, Maa Media Network Udupi for the artistes of coastal region here at the seminar hall of the college on Sunday December 2.
K P Acharya, convener of Kaup Vidyaniketan Education Institution Group presiding over the program said that good artistes lack support by the government. One can revere the art through supporting the artiste who performs, he said. Cinema-acting training centers which is seen in big cities, be opened in coastal region too, he wished.
Prof V K Udyavar of Vidyaniketan Education Institution, Kaup Ranga Tharanga chief Leeladhar Shetty, Udayakumar Shetty, Shekar Ajekar among others were present.
More than 60 participants from Udupi, DK district and Shimoga took part in the workshop.
National award winning movie director K Prakash Suvarna Katapady welcomed.
Journalist Rakesh Kunjoor compered the program.
