Kundapur, Dec 1: ‘Former chief minister Yeddyurappa’s resignation from the BJP is the biggest loss to BJP; a person who strengthened the party is now quitting. His decision has brought grief to me", said State labor minister Bacchegowda.
He addressed the media on his visit to Sri Kshetra Kollur temple on December 1.
‘We are not joining the KJP party and we haven’t received calls so far. There will be no effect on the government after Yeddyurappa quits, Jagadish Shettar will continue as the CM", said the minister.
A sum of Rs 18 crores will be granted for labor welfare department due to which lot of facilities will be available.
A minimum salary of Rs 200 and monthly salary of Rs 6000 is fixed for 77 different jobs in the interest of employees adding a special scheme called ‘janashree’ is also launched for 44 different jobs, he said.
Out of six crore people in the state, three crore people are not associated with any unions or groups leaving only 20 lac people which are attached to some sort of association.
Efforts are made to provide facilities like social security, health, education and others even to people who are not associated.
"All the facilities will be granted to workers under labor law legally", he added.
"Adding to this there is a special insurance scheme called Vima for drivers where they can get a sum of Rs 2 lac in case of their death and Rs 50,000 to 70,000 in case of accident. The policy amount will be handed over to nominee", he added.
He mentioned that there will also be a hike of Rs 33 for 1000 beedi’s, which is a huge rise up from Rs 73.40 to Rs 116.
