Patnaik Heard Grievances 76 Times in Over Decade

Bhubaneswar, Nov 30 (IANS): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has attended grievance hearing sessions at the official grievance cell only on 76 occasions since 2001, the state government said.

The special cell opens once a week to hear grievances and redress problems of the public.

Although the cell has held hearings on over 500 days, senior state officials received complaints from the people in the chief minister's absence most of the times.

The state public grievance and pension administration department minister Ramesh Majhi made this declaration in a written reply to a question in the assembly Thursday.

Meanwhile, a statement from the office of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that grievance hearing would be held every Monday instead of Saturday from next month.
