Kundapur: Mysterious Death of 16-year-old Boy Stuns Hostel

Kundapur, Nov 29: A 16-year-old boy passed away under mysterious circumstance here on Thursday November 29.
The boy, identified as Dinesh Naik from Belkal, Muddur, fell unconscious while having porridge for breakfast at around 8.15 am. He was rushed to government hospital in Kundapur by ambulance, but was declared brought dead.
Son of Raghu and Parvathi Naik of Muddur, Dinesh was studying in the 10th std at Sanjay Gandhi Higher School, Ampar.
He was staying in the boys hostel near the school. Dinesh was said to be a smart and intelligent boy, healthy with no symptoms of illness. He had tea in the morning followed by breakfast at around 8.15 am.
Speaking to daijiworld, hostel warden Bhaskar Poojary said, "Dinesh was healthy yesterday, but while having breakfast he fell unconscious all of a sudden. We rushed him to government hospital but in vain."
There are 35 boys in the hostel, out of whom 7 had gone for the Koteshwar feast on Wednesday November 28. Of the remaining 28 boys who had breakfast on Thursday morning, only Dinesh was affected while the rest showed no sign of illness.
SI Tejjappa arrived at the spot and conducted enquiries. The exact cause of the death will be ascertained only after the post-mortem, he said.
A case has been registered in Shankar Narayana police station.
