Kundapur: State-of-the-art UVA Meridian Convention Center Inaugurated

Kundapur, Nov 24: "Any place which creates a pleasant environment inspires a man towards meditation and that place is equal to a temple. The UVA Convention center built under the aegies of Prafulla association in Koteshwar is such a place," said Dharmasthala Dhramadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade.
He addressed the gathering after inaugurating the newly-constructed UVA Convention Center, which is of international standards, at the premises of Prafulla Enclave here on Friday November 23.
"The coastal region is developed in the commerce sector. Similarly it is a proud moment for us as the state’s first convention hall of international standards has been set up in this place," he added.
Dr Heggade said that Bailur Uday Kumar Shetty and Naveen Kumar Shetty have set a good example for youth as this convention center is a good platform for them to learn self-reliance.
In his presidential address, home minister R Askok said that undivided Dakshina Kannada is best known for its educated people. "Now, with the erection of the convention center, they have proved themselves as intelligent."
"Today people look for quality and comfort. Even if the convention center is not apt for Kundapur as of now, it will be useful in the future," he said.
Speaking about various contributions made by the late Dr VS Acharya to the district, he said a new KSRTC bus stand will be constructed at Bannaje in Udupi shortly and a sum of Rs 10 crore would be released for the same.
On the occasion, Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade was honoured on the occasion. Ri Lin Min Lisa from China was honoured by R Ashok for granting necessary equipment for the construction of convention center.
Corporation Bank retired general manager welcomed while Manohar Prasad compered the programme.
A grand procession was taken prior to the inauguration.
The UVA Meridian Convention Center has an open theater with a capacity of 25,000, an air-conditioned hall for 1,400 people and an air-conditioned dining hall which can accomodate 750 people at a time. It also has two helipads and a parking lot that can accomodate a thousand cars.
