Mumbai: 15th Yakshagana Literature Convention Kicks Off

Mumbai, Nov 21: Yakshagana Samithi Mumbai recently organized its 15th four-day Yakshagana literature convention at Dr M Vishweshwaraiah Hall of Karnataka Sangha Mumbai in Matunga West, here.
 
Yakshagana admirer Prakash Bhat inaugurated the convention by lighting the auspicious lamp. Karnataka Sangha Mumbai honorary chief secretary Dr Bharath Kumar Polipu presided.

In all from November 17 to 25, nine Yakshagana shows will be performed in Mumbai, New Mumbai and Dombiwali by the artistes of Shree Durga Parameshwari Yakshagana troupe Kateel accompanied by other famous artistes. Karnataka Sangha Mumbai and Shree Guru Narayana Swami Yakshagana Mandali are the sponsors.
 
Yakshagana artiste K Laxmi Narayana Kundunthaya will preside. Yakshagana committee president H B L Rao spoke.
 
Sathyananda Rao Pejavar welcomed. Shantha Laxmi delivered the vote of thanks.
 
Girija Kallyana and Kumara Vijaya shows were staged. The show was halted after news of Bal Thackrey’s demise.
