Udupi: Children's Science Conference Organized to Motivate Students

Udupi, Nov 21: "Students have failed to gain basic science education", said Education Department deputy director Nagendra Madhyastha after inaugurating the Children Science Conference organized by the State Science Parishad Udupi district committee, Education department and Manipal pre-university college.

He also said that in the contemporary scenario, students are loosing their interest in the field of engineering and the quantity of students opting for science have decreased.

 "Children should be aware of the changes in science and develop interest in research. Such conferences must be held to motivate the students", he said.

Ten teams will be selected from the district for the state level conference which will be held at Saint Joseph Girls High School in Madikeri from November 22 to November 25.

For the National level conference which will be held at Varanasi from December 27 to December 30, thirty teams will be selected from the state conference.The students from Udupi district had won in the previous year  for the science projects prepared by them", said Dinesh Shettigar.
 
Manipal pre-university college principal Vedanarayan presided over the occasion. U R Madhyastha welcomed the gathering. Prabhakar Bhandi compered the event. Rupina Sulochana proposed the vote of thanks.
