Bangalore: Police Crack Bank Robbery Case, Nab Four

Bangalore, Nov 20: Four persons were on Tuesday November 20 arrested in connection with the robbery and murder at Corporation Bank branch at Hesaraghatta Main Road here on Monday November 19.
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday November 20, police commissioner Jyothiprakash Mirji said that among the arrested are two from Bihar, one from Chattisgarh and another a local.
The arrested are Dinesh Kumar Singh and Vikas Kumar Gupta from Bihar, Premkumar from Chattigarh and Imran, a local. Among them, Dinesh is an engineering dropout based in Bangalore.
The arrests come less than 24 hours after the incident took place on Monday night. An armed robber had barged into bank and opened fire, killing one, and made away with Rs 15 lac.
Police seized the money stolen as well as a revolver from the accused.
The four had planned to rob the bank to make quick money. It was Dinesh who entered the bank with his face covered with a cloth. He downed the shutters and threatened the staffers and customers at gunpoint. He even ensured that they hand over their mobile phones before committing the robbery.
He opened fire at Muralidhar, a civil contractor and manager of a nearby petrol bunk who was a customer at the bank. He was injured on his right shoulder and later breathed his last in the hospital.
