Kundapur: Fisherman Meets Watery Grave at Gangolli, Another Goes Missing

Kundapur, Nov 14: One fisherman drowned while another went missing in two separate incidents reported at Gangolli here on Tuesday November 13 night.
The deceased has been identified as Koderi resident Sheena Kharvi (55).
On Tuesday night, Sheena left for fishing on Kanakadurga boat from Gangolli dock. He lost balance all of a sudden and fell into the water. He was immediately rescued and rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced brought dead.
The body was shifted to Gangolli primary health centre and later handed over to the family.
In another incident reported on the same night, Sukra Kharvi (40), resident of Maravanthe who left for fishing from the same dock on the Yaksheshwari Kripa boat fell into the Panchagangavali river and went missing.
The locals launched a search operation but even after a prolonged effort, Sukhra was not found.
On Wednesday November 14 morning, the fire squad was pressed into action, but to no avail. Search operations are still on, but it is feared that Sukhra may have drowned.
Gangolli police have registered both the cases.
