Mangalore: Kadri Cricketers Celebrate Diwali with Free Distribution of Rice

Mangalore, Nov 12: As every year, this time too Kadri Cricketers in a generous gesture distributed rice to poor families to celebrate Diwali meaningfully. The programme was held at Kadri grounds on Monday November 12.
This is the 7th year of Kadri Cricketers' free rice distribution programme. Each of the 500 families was given 5 kg of rice on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Shrikhar Prabhu said, "It is a happy occasion as it is Diwali. Let darkness go away and let there be enlightenment of knowledge in every person. This time the Club has given away 5 kg of rice. I wish that they give even more in the coming years."
Former MCC commissioner and Congress member J R Lobo said, "Diwali has its own significance. Every organization should emulate Kadri Cricketers for the betterment of the society."
Kadri police inspector Raghav Padil said the youth should take responsibility and participate in such types of programmes, where they can exude positive energy to the society. "Youth has the capacity to mould society in the right way," he added.
Rathnakar Jain, Suresh Ballal, MSEZL PRO R Bhandarkar, president of Kadri Cricketers Manohara Shetty and members were present. The guests handed over the rice to the families.
