Yangon, Nov 11 (IANS): At least one person died and over 100 others were injured in a 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar Sunday, officials said.
The man died as the brick wall of a restaurant collapsed in Mandalay region, Xinhua reported. The quake was also felt in Shwebo, Tabaitgine and Singu regions.
School buildings, pagodas and houses collapsed in some places. Five others were missing. The 7.30 a.m. quake had its epicentre at Tabaitgine.
The neighbouring Dehong prefecture of China and Thai capital Bangkok also experienced the tremor. Some five aftershocks were also recorded.
