Mangalore: Little Cubs of Joy at Pilikula Biological Park

Mangalore, Nov 9: Five new members have joined the Dr Shivaram Karanth Biological Park in Pilikula.
Four-year-old tiger Shambavi has given birth two cubs while a leopard has given birth to three cubs.
"Both of Shambavi's cubs are healthy and their sex is yet to be identified", said director Jayaprakash Bhandary. Currently there are seven tigers named Illiraja, Vikram, Nethravathi, Sharavathi, Krishna, Kadama and now with two more cubs the toll has increased to nine, he added.
The three cubs born to the leopard are also healthy. As per the information received, the mother leopard was caught in a trap at Karkala and later handed over to Pilikula Biological Park.
The tail of the leopard was injured on its way to Pilikula and was treated after it was admitted to the park.
Currently, there are six leopards in the Park and now with the birth of three cubs, the total count has increased to nine.
