Dubai, Nov 8: In a heart-touching gesture, hundreds of little children came forward to gift their most precious possessions - their toys - to bring smiles on the faces of underprivileged children in the African countries.
The intiative, 'Gift a toy and get a smile' was launched by Dreamzz group.
By the end of the campaign, the organizers collected as many as 27 cartons of toys.
The cartons were handed over to 'Lets Make a Child Smile' organization, an initiative of Al Maktoum Foundation. These toys will be sent to the underprivileged children of African countries.
What is Toy’s Drive: Basic needs like food, clothing and shelter are usually taken into consideration, but psychological development of a child is the most neglected part. Toys are not only for fun and games, but they mark a huge difference in the social, emotional, intellectual development of a child, In short Toys play an integral part in the development of a child and yes children are our future and they need our assistance to grow today.
Objective: The key objective of this project was to collect the discarded/unwanted toys and distribute to the less privileged children and the other objectives of the project is to teach children the importance of sharing and caring, and to understand the importance of lending a helping hand and to experience the joy of giving. This will also create the general awareness of the suffering of innocent children in different parts of the world and to realize their blessings. In addition to that, this project would help for proper usage of the unwanted toys rather than just throwing them away.
The organizers expressed special gratitude to all the little children who willingly gave away their toys, and to M/s Al Futtaim Carillion, M/s Dnata, M/s Emirates and all those who supported selflessly by donating toys. Daijiworld was the media partner.
Indeed, Dreamzz is taking smaller steps for a bigger tomorrow.
