Chikmangalur, Nov 7: "Children will become jewels of the society if moral and quality education is rendered to them. Importance will be given to render this kind of education," said Balehonnur Rambapuri Jagadguru Veerasomeshwara Swamiji.
He addressed the gathering after laying foundation stone for Rambapuri Veerasomeshwara school at Thegur on November 6.
On the occasion, Swamiji honoured IFKCA state president Ronald Colaco for donating Rs 10 lac to the school building fund. The honour was received by Michael Baptist, secretary of IFKCA in the absence of Ronald Colaco.
Swamiji also honoured former minister C R Sagir for alloting 10 acres of land on behalf of the government.
Michael Baptist lauded the service rendered by Rambapuri Veerasomeshwara swamiji to the society.
Dr Y C Vishwanath, MLA of Kadoor area lauded the efforts of Ronald Colaco and former minister C R Sagir.
Gauramma Basavegowda, president of Rambapuri educational foundation, Rekha Huliyappa Gowda, zilla panchayat president, James D’Souza, IFKCI state assistant convenor, Christopher George among others were present.
