Mapusa: Carmelite Br John Alfonso to Release New Book

Mapusa, Nov 2: ‘Jinnechea Som’dirant’ a new book of essays on value education written by Br John Malvino Alfonso will be released by Dr Walter De Sa, principal, St Xavier’s College, Mapusa.

The book release programme will be held on November 10 at the Carmelite Seminary Mapusa at 3:30 pm.

Professor Sushant K Naik, assistant professor, St Xavier’s College, Mapusa will review the book.

Dilip Borkar, editor, BIMB- a Konkani monthly has written the  forward to this book and published by the Dhyanavana publications of the Carmelites.

'Jinechea Som’dirant' is the third book by the author. 'Sukhi jinn' (2006) and 'Jinnechi Vatt' (2009) are his previous two works.

'Jinnechi Vatt' (2011) has been transliterated into Kannada script by Fr Valerian Fernandes of Mangalore Diocese.

'Jinnechi Vatt' has received the best essay book award-2009 from Thomas Stephen Konkani Kendra (TSKK), Goa Konkani Academy (GKA) and Konkani Bhaxa Mandal (KBM).
