Mangalore, Oct 31: Abhinayam, a three-day workshop on ‘Padam’ of Bharatanatyam will be held at Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education, Bajjodi from November 1 to 3, said Vani Rajgopal, programme coordinator.
She was addressing the media at the press meet held at the press club on Tuesday November 30.
The workshop will be conducted by Bragha Besell, an internationally renowned Bharathanatyam artist from Chennai. The workshop will deal with ‘Padam’, the major part of Abhinaya of Bharathanatyam. This is a special workshop conducted for the Bharatanatyam gurus and students.
The workshop will be inaugurated on Thursday November 1 at 3 pm. Fr Dennis D’Sa, administrator, FMCON will be the chief guest. Jayalaxmi Alva, a Veteran Bharathanatyam Guru and founder of Sridevi Nritya Kendra will be the guest of honour.
Soon after the inauguration, there will be a live demonstration of ‘Padam’ by the resource person, Bragha Besell.
Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, director, Sandesha and Elias Fernandes, proprietor of Four Winds were present during the press meet.
