Mangalore: KRV Demands Ouster of Asnotikar, Katti for Anti-Karnataka Statements

Mangalore, Oct 28: Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) staged a protest near the deputy commissioner's office here on Sunday October 28 demanding the ouster of state ministers Anand Asnotikar and Umesh Katti for their recent comments on Karwar and northern Karnataka.

Umesh Katti had suggested that northern Karnatak should be made a separate state, while Asnotikar had called for the merger of Karwar with Goa.

Addressing the gathering, KRV district president Mohandas said that the statements made by the two ministers were against the interests of the state.

Lambasting the two ministers for their 'anti-Karnataka' stand, he said that both of them should tender their resignations or be ousted.

He alleged that Katti and Asnotikar had made such statements to gain political mileage, and said that by doing so they were playing with the sentiments of the people of the state.

Mohandas also warned that the KRV would not allow the two ministers to enter Dakshina Kannada district and would intensify their protest against them.

The protestors expressed their discontentment and anger by burning effigies and posters of the two ministers.
