The award ceremony was held at GMU premises with professor Gita Ashok Raj gracing the occasion as the chief guest. Dr P K Menon, Dr Gamini Premadasa, professor Meenu Cherian and professor Mohammed Arifulla were some of the senior academic administrators of GMU who attend the event.
While addressing the students professor Gita Ashok Raj outlined the planning and preparation that had been undertaken by CCE&CO to launch a wide range of short courses. She stated that the courses were geared to meet the needs of those who may not have had the opportunity to follow formal training programs. She added that the centre had grown considerably since its inception nearly two years back, with the number of students enrolling in the programs increasing considerably.
Speaking on behalf of the students Dr Manasi Prabhavalkar appreciated the efforts of Christopher Samuel and Padmini Arunagiri as instructors of the course, and thanked GMU for providing an opportunity for them to further their careers.
The students who completed the course, no doubt, found the event a memorable occasion, as their family members too were present at the function to share their joy and achievement.
The grand event concluded with the vote of thanks by Sherly Ajay, academic advisor of GMU.
