Kasargod, Oct 28: At least two people were killed and four others were injured in two separate road accidents that occurred in the district, here, on Saturday October 27.
A person died and two others were severely injured after a speeding car lost control and fell into a gorge at Pallathadka of Badiyadka.
The deceased has been identified as Ismail (70) of Nekkaremane, Kambalabettu, Vittal.
The brother of the deceased, Abdul Kadher (52) and his sibling Kareem (20), were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.
As it was Bakrid, Abdul Kadher and his family were on their way to Chattamchal of Kasargod to visit his wife's family. In order to avoid a pothole, the driver suddenly took a left turn wherein he lost control over the vehicle and fell into the gorge. The locals immediately rushed to the spot and managed to take the injured to the hospital. However, Ismail breathed his last on the way.
In yet another incident, a person was killed and two others were severely injured after two bikes collided head-on near Cherkala of Citizen Nagara, here.
The deceased has been identified as K M Abdul Kunji (44). Abdul Kadar (50) and Kabeer(17) of Uppala suffered serious injuries. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.
Abdul Kunji was a Congress party worker in Kerala. The accident occurred while he was on his way to the Masjid. Abdul Kadar was reportedly driving the two-wheeler.
Kabber, the other biker was on his way to meet his sister.
